Due to the anticipated weather impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred this week, the Burns Point Ferry will cease operations from 1pm today, Tuesday 4 March 2025, until further notice.
Passenger and staff safety is Ballina Shire Council’s utmost priority.
It is essential to the close the ferry while this can be done safely, before the expected severe winds and intense rainfall arrives. The ferry will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
Council appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this time.
