Reduce Single Use

Reduce single use A4 internal staff sign.jpg

Did you know that Australians use:

- about 10 million plastic bags every day

- almost 2 billion single-use coffee cups every year

- 15 billion plastic bottles every year

These items almost entirely end up in landfill.

Small changes to your everyday activities can provide substantial benefits to the environment and our community. When you’re heading out to eat, support businesses with a focus on sustainable practices, use reusable items for takeaway food and drink, and where possible eat in to use ceramic cups, foodware and cutlery.

Remember to pack these items when leaving the house

  • Refillable water bottle
  • Reusable compact shopping bag
  • Reusable cup
  • Reusable straw (if required)
  • Reusable lunch container and cutlery
  • Reusable produce bag

Say NO to

  • Takeaway cups
  • Plastic straws, cutlery and containers
  • Over packaged foods
  • Single use plastic bags
  • Single use fibre-based food packaging (paper bags, paper trays, bamboo or compostable containers etc.)
