Public Reserve Vehicle Access

Public reserves are established to provide safe and amenable use by the public by providing open space for passive recreation and it is important to protect their users and the reserve from damage.

Vehicles are normally prohibited from driving or parking on public reserves as the vehicles may damage the reserve and create safety conflicts for users of the reserves.

Council recognises that residents or businesses may wish to gain vehicular access through a public reserve to access properties for deliveries or construction work.

Council has established an application process to assist facilitating whether vehicles should be temporarily allowed under specific conditions.

Consent from Council for vehicle or machinery access through a public reserve is required.

An application form must be completed and submitted to Council for the assessment to occur prior to any potential consent being issued.
