Water Recirculation Requirements
The BCA requires skimmer boxes and water outlets for swimming pools to be in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1926.3-2010 Swimming pool safety – Part 3: Water Re-circulation Systems. This standard specifies the requirements to which skimmer boxes, skimming devices and water outlets are to be manufactured and installed.
Prior to issue of an Occupation Certificate for a new swimming pool, Council may require the installer of any water recirculation system to submit a Compliance Certificate certifying that the system has been manufactured and installed in accordance with the requirements of AS1926.3-2010.
AS 1926.3 -2010 may be accessed online or a hard copy is available to view during business hours at Council’s Customer Service Centre at 40 Cherry Street, Ballina.
