1. Written Application
All applications must be submitted online by selecting the position from the list above. You can complete your application at your own pace and save your progress along the way, but it must be finalised and submitted before the closing date.
As part of the process, you’ll also need to provide written responses addressing some key selection criteria outlined in the application form.
A resume will also need to be provided with the following details included:
- Relevant education and qualifications (interviewed candidates will need to produce original qualifications at time of interview)
- Relevant work experience
- Contact details of at least two professional referees, including your current employer.
When assessing your suitability, we consider how your knowledge, skills, experience, and personal attributes align with the role’s requirements and Council’s values and culture.

2. Shortlisting
The anticipated timeline for the recruitment process is outlined in the position’s Information Package, which is attached to the job advertisement. As a guide:
- Shortlisting takes at least 15 working days, depending on the number of applications received.
- Shortlisted applicants will be notified by email and text message and invited to an interview.
- If you’re not shortlisted for interview you will be informed by email within approximately five weeks of the closing date.
3. Interview
There are usually three people on the interview panel, including a People and Culture representative. This is your opportunity to share your skills, experience, and interest in the role, and to demonstrate how you align with the position requirements and Council’s values.
Interviews are typically structured and may include a mix of behavioural and role-specific questions. You may also be asked to provide practical examples from your previous experience.
You’re welcome to bring notes to refer to during the interview. We also encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the role, team, or organisation.
