In Ballina Shire amenities are open from 6am to 6pm. It is necessary to lock amenities overnight to protect these community buildings and ensure facilites are clean and available the next day.
The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) allows 24-hour access to specific public amenities across Australia for people with a disability. The MLAK system has been fitted to elevators at railway stations, accessible toilets and adaptive playground equipment across Australia.
Eligible residents can obtain a key from Ballina Shire Council’s Customer Service Centre, 40 Cherry Street, Ballina. Proof of identity and residence is required, in addition to an apparent disability impeding mobility or a letter from your medical practitioner, disability organisation or community health centre.

Located on Tamar Street, Ballina this toilet facility includes two unisex toilets and a conventional accessible toilet.
The Changing Places bathroom can only be accessed using a Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK).
