The Resource Recovery Centre has a separate drop off area for builders waste.

Builders waste items can often be reused or recycled. The Ballina Resource Recovery Centre charges less for disposing of builders waste that is sorted by type BEFORE you come to our site.
This includes:
- all scrap metal
- white goods (fridges, freezers, washing machines, air conditioners, etc)
- bricks, concrete, roof tiles, ceramics
- green waste, tree stumps and logs
- hazardous materials (gas bottles, batteries, fire extinguishers, aerosols, motor & other oils)
- recyclables (drink bottles and cans, paper)
- cardboard
Our tip? Set up bins/buckets for different waste streams on your job site (drink containers, screws/nails, hazardous materials, cardboard, plastic packaging and general waste). Bring them into the Resource Recovery Centre so you can easily dispose of them in the correct spots. Make it even easier by sorting your trailer load into these categories:
- Recycling (bottles & cans, clean paper & cardboard)
- Hazardous waste
- Metal waste
- Green waste
- Builders waste (concrete, bricks, tile)
- Mixed waste for landfill (treated timber, broken items, plastic wrapping)
