Under Section 53 of the Local Government Act 1993 Council is required to keep a register of all land vested in it or under its control.  An extract of Council’s land register is provided through the link below.  It should be noted that the information on this extract is only current to the date notified.  Further enquiries should be made for more current information.

Terms and Conditions of Use

This register has been created for the purpose of showing Ballina Shire Council land information in accordance with Section 53 of the Local Government Act 1993.

The Land Register includes:-

• Land owned in freehold by Council
• Land entrusted to Council by Deed
• Crown Land with Council as Trust Manager or Devolved to Council

At this stage the register does not include roads vested in Council or under its control. A Roads Record, required under the Roads Regulation, is maintained by Council's Civil Services division. That record is available for inspection upon enquiry to council@ballina.nsw.gov.au marked Attention: Director - Civil Services and specifying the section of road that you are interested in.

For enquiries regarding road status (is the road under the care and control of Council), please direct enquires to council@ballina.nsw.gov.au marked Attention: Manager Infrastructure Planning - Civil Services.

For enquiries regarding road maintenance, please direct enquires to council@ballina.nsw.gov.au marked Attention: Manager Engineering Works - Civil Services.

The Land Register contains information currently held by Ballina Shire Council. If you require further information on a parcel of land, please contact Council via email to council@ballina.nsw.gov.au
