Threatened Species

The Ballina Shire is home to a diverse and unique array of animals (fauna) and plants (flora).

There are 151 fauna species found in the Shire that are classified as threatened under State and Commonwealth legislation - this means that they are at risk of extinction if their population continues to decline!
