Wardell Wharf

Repairs to the Wardell Wharf are now complete.

Council ngaged contractor, Hunter Wharf and Barge, to carry out the remediation works, which included:

• Repairs to damaged wharf and boardwalk piles
• Installation of armouring along the riverbank near Wardell Wharf.

As part of the works, two temporary piles were installed in front of the existing jetty on Byron Street (south side) so that a barge could transport rocks to the north side of the riverbank for the rock revetment works.

The total project cost is $1.53million, with Council receiving $1.03 million in funding through the NSW Government’s Natural Disaster Relief Assistance Program to complete these repairs.
