Alstonville 2037

The draft Alstonville Strategic Plan 2037 was placed on exhibtion in April 2017 for community comment. Following consideration of comments received, Council adopted the study and strategic plan in December 2017.

Ballina 2035

Ballina is an emerging regional centre in the NSW Far North Coast region.  Major growth and change is expected over the next 20 years due to factors such as improved transport links to a rapidly growing South East Queensland and to Ballina's thriving regional airport. Council prepared the Ballina Major Regional Centre Strategy to guide this growth in a way that maximises opportunities, while preserving the things about Ballina that are important to the community. The focus for the strategy is the identification of key policy and planning related initiatives that can define and drive Ballina as a regional centre into the future.

Ballina Shire Rural Settlement Characters Statements 2014

This plan highlights the characteristics and community values of rural settlements in the shire.  Included are Newrybar, Tintenbar, Patchs Beach, Meerschaum Vale, Rous, Rous Mill, Fernleigh, Empire Vale, Keith Hall and South Ballina.

Lennox Head Community Aspirations Strategic Plan

The Lennox Head Community Aspirations Strategic Plan was adopted by Council in November 2002. It is an umbrella document which provides guidance for future Council activities in Lennox Head - including town planning, works programs and annual budgets. The Strategic Plan was prepared as a partnership between Council and the Lennox Head community over a period of almost two years. Since the Strategic Plan was adopted, Council has been working to implement the actions contained within the Plan. The majority of actions identified in each of the plan has now largely been delivered.

Council is currently preparing a new place plan for Lennox Head and Skennars Head. The new Lennox Head Strategic Plan 2023-2043 will have a 20-year horizon.

Wardell 2035

This study was prepared in 2015 and was adopted by Council in August 2015. The study outlines a vision for Wardell and contains background research which led to the development of the Wardell Strategic Plan 2015 - 2035.

Wollongbar 2039

During 2017 and 2018 council sought feedback from the Wollongbar community on what it was like to live in Wollongbar and the things the community valued about their environment. The feedback provided was used to prepare the Wollongbar Planning and Environmental Study and the Wollongbar Strategic Plan 2039. The below documents were adopted by Council in June 2019.
